Washcloths!

So since the hip surgery, I have been doing a lot of sitting. I find I get bored very quickly with TV and things like that. But then my wonderful friend Briana and her mother Michelle taught me how to knit washcloths, and when I started going I was hooked!
I went to the store and bought my favorite colors of yarn. I chose the brand Sugar and Cream, which is the right type of yarn for dishcloths. Because they don't have a lot of fibers coming off of them, (in simpler terms, "its not too hairy"). I also
bought size 9 knitting needles, and let me just say that you can really do some damage with these things, they are like a foot long! Then I got to knittin' !

I love making these, and I think I have been getting faster for each one. They are all unique, they are definately not perfect. Some have holes, others are missing some stitches in some spots, but I think that adds to the "handmade" quality. Plus I really didn't want to unravel it to fix it. I have definately got some major hand muscles from knitting these. I have hand cramps more than 5 times a day! But I guess that can also be from using my crutches (which are a TOTAL killer on your hands!) and sewing. Oh well, maybe I can enter my hands into the Miss. Universe contest.

P.S. I have linked the washcloth pattern, to all of you who want to know how to make these. They make awesome gifts and they are really good cleaners! Plus the pattern is super easy!

(I don't launder it when I am done though)

Happy knitting!

  2. I am so grateful you have found a home that enjoys the art of crafting. Seeing that is not something I excel in. You seem to always be learning to do something.
